Using lean tools to support your organization and using your people effectively in achieving your goals. Lean managers need to challenge their processes and practices and should be looking for ways of improvement. They must make others to do the same by providing them guidance tools and help required. A lean manager will be different to a traditional manager in many ways. They will be consistently looking at the possibilities of improvement. They will challenge the existing process even when it is doing fine. They will be open to others ideas and will encourage them to come up with new ideas. Mistakes will be treated as opportunities to learn and those mistakes will be prevented from happening again. They will ask why this problem has occurred than who has done that. They will simplify things and will be there with people when they need support. They will think in a lean way and they will inject lean thinking to the others who are working with them. Lean management is an art one should perfect with time and with the understanding about lean manufacturing. Lean leaders will be the most important asset to any organization in its lean journey. |
