Check Sheet
One of the simplest and easiest tools to use
in lean manufacturing is the check sheet. It is very effective
and efficient in operation. Check sheet is nothing than a sheet
containing some key elements that has to be checked. When the
particular task is done it will be marked as completed. With this
method we can make sure every step in a process is followed and
completed before the process is marked as completed.
We can use a check sheet to check whether the
maintenance of machinery is done correctly. In this case checking
points will be cleanliness of the machinery, broken parts, oiling
conditions etc. while looking into the finished checklist a manager
can decide whether the maintenance is done correctly or not. If
it has not happened correctly, he can figure out what is the area
needs improvement and make the required improvements.
To construct a good quality check sheet, a thorough
study of the system must be carried out first. Without this you
will not be able to understand the problems and causes of the
problem correctly. Without understanding these causes you can
not eliminate the problems from the system.
Although very simple, this tool can be mighty
effective in solving your problems.
