Results Vs Process

Any process must be result oriented. Results are the thing which counts at the end. After saying that, what will happen if all the people are looking only at the results? There is a serious danger of not been able to see the problems the system has. The system will be loosing on hundreds of opportunities, where it can be improved. Let me explain this little more. Think the equation below.
1+1=2 and also 3+(-1)=2
Both equations gives us the same result. But don’t you think that the second is loosing something. What if there is no minus there. This is how you will loose money and other resources when you are only dependent on results.

If you think in a process oriented manner, the system will be thinking about the process to produce the result. You will not be thinking simply “ How I can get the result”, but also you will be thinking “ What is the path I should use”. With a defined path, any system is much more stable. System has very few variables to satisfy. Therefore, you know your system very well. The system is well defined. Even a new comer can adhere to the system very easily. If you want to improve your system, it is also very easy because you know you’re your system very well.

Knowing what you need is very important. But having the map to get there is even more important.
